My goals every day are to be open-minded and accessible and to find common ground. I've built relationships with community and state leaders and other lawmakers to forge solutions on a range of issues.

Communication with constituents is very important to me. Along with my seatmates, we've held dozens of public forums in the district and sent out weekly email newsletters during each session.

Priorities & opportunities

As your representative, I have sponsored and passed legislation around:

• Suicide prevention
  
• Greater access to insulin and continuous glucose monitors
  
• Expanded health care for veterans
  
• Criminal justice reforms that improve lives while saving money

I’ve championed efforts around:

• Paid family leave
  
• Gun violence prevention
  
• Greater transparency around lobbying and dark money

During my service to ND, I’ll continue to fight for:

• Reproductive rights
  
• LGBTQ+ rights
  
• Affordable college
  
• Strong public education
• More accessible and affordable child care
• More affordable housing

I serve on the House Appropriations Committee during the legislative session. Between legislative sessions, I serve on the Budget Section and the Juvenile Justice, Higher Education and Government Services interim committees.

I also serve on the the Commission on Juvenile Justice, Crime Victim Services Board, and the ND Lottery Commission.
